Combining aspects of flameworking and glassblowing techniques, our process starts by melting glass on a torch heated to 3000 degrees. The glass is then manipulated in the flame with various hand tools by a highly skilled craftsman. Using the natural force of gravity, the glass is shaped until the desired form is created. Colored glass cane, murrine, frit and other materials are utilized to complement and enhance the design. When complete, the pieces are kiln annealed, which increases the strength and durability to last for a lifetime of enjoyment.
